TOPIC: Statistical learning: What goes in, and what comes out
ABSTRACT: While much recent attention has been devoted to the properties of statistical learning mechanisms themselves, less work has focused on the nature of the input and output to statistical learning. I will consider recent data from the domains of language and music concerning the manner in which input is "chosen" to enter infant statistical learning computations, and the representational structure of the output of this process
